Kaleb Moon spent 45 minutes glued to Kevin Moranz’s side, burned every bridge he had built, survived anyway, and then gave the money away. On purpose.
Episode 2 ended with Kat Ellis having a lightbulb moment in confessional — realizing she helped the millionaire complete his cowboy hat agenda without knowing it. Episode 3 picks up with that knowledge and asks what she is going to do with it.
The answer turns out to be one of the more calculated moves of the ‘Million Dollar Secret‘ season so far.
The Recap & The Clue
Peter opens the episode by reminding the group over the intercom that they sent the wrong person home — which cost a second guest their spot via kill shot. The clue from Episode 2 still stands: “In the first activity, the millionaire was straight as an arrow.” Six suspects fall under it — Hunter Call, Melissa Austin-Weeks, Lauren Gierth, Lauren T., Kevin Moranz, and Kaleb Moon.
Kaleb is immediately called to Peter’s private study.
The New Agenda
Peter brought up Kaleb’s decision to tell guests that he had a second agenda and wonders if Kaleb is concerned that it wasn’t mention. As soon as Kaleb denies any worry, Peter reminds him that agendas are always revealed, even when it belongs to a non-millionaire guest. Now Kaleb is concerned.
The millionaire’s new agenda: shadow Kevin for 45 minutes. Stay within 15 feet of him at all times. Break contact for more than 30 seconds, and the clock resets. Complete it before the day’s activity begins.
In confessional, Kaleb is not thrilled: “Anybody other than Kevin. Kevin moves around a lot. There’s no good way to stay close to him and not be obvious.”
The reward this time is bigger than a kill shot. Complete the agenda and survive elimination, and Kaleb gets a choice: his vote counts as three at the elimination dinner, or he can randomly move the money to another guest’s box after dinner. Kaleb does not hesitate. He tells Peter he wants to move the money. Being the millionaire is getting exhausting and he wants to “move about the cabin freely again.”
Kat & Hunter Make a Decision
While Kaleb is getting his assignment, Kat pulls Hunter aside. She tells him she thinks Kaleb is the millionaire. They agree on a strategy that is both ruthless and logical: protect Kaleb, at least for now. They know who has the money. They can keep him in their sights. And keeping him in the game means neither of them has to worry about the money landing in their own box — or so they think. They settle on throwing suspicion toward Lauren T. and agree to get Umeko on board with the same plan.
Kat, in confessional: “Lauren T. and I have a good relationship. But I got to remember, this is my game. I’m here for me. If winning takes potentially voting out my best friend in the game, oh well.”
The Shadow Begins
Kaleb finds Kevin at breakfast and starts the clock. It goes fine at first — the group is gathered and there is natural cover. Then Kevin gets up. Kaleb follows. They chat for a little while, but eventually, Kevin wants to talk to Lauren T. alone. Kaleb says he needs to stay near him. Kevin asks him to explain himself. Kaleb fumbles.
In confessional: “The guy is looking at me like, have you lost your ever-loving mind? I am looking like a complete moron out there.”
Kevin tells several people that Kaleb will not leave his side. The house picks up on it immediately. Melissa suggests to Daisy that it might be an agenda. Kevin keeps pressing Kaleb. Desperate, Kaleb whispers in Kevin’s ear that he is doing this on Melissa’s behalf — that she thinks Kevin is the millionaire and asked Kaleb to rattle his cage.
Kevin immediately tells Lauren G. and Nick.
The secret lasted approximately ten seconds.
Kaleb completes his agenda anyway. In confessional, the damage assessment is blunt: “I have caused a ton of damage. I have lost every bit of trust I have worked so hard for. But if I can make it through one elimination dinner, I can get rid of that money.”
Melissa, furious at being named, goes directly to Kevin and swears she never said any such thing. Kevin tells her this actually makes him feel better about her — because if she had sent Kaleb to rattle him, she would not come to him so openly. They start discussing whether the whole thing was an agenda. It was. Neither of them knows it yet.
The Diving Activity
Peter calls the group to the cove for the day’s activity. Five divers — Kat, Kevin, Daisy, Kasey, and Hunter — must swim underwater and observe scenes. The remaining guests serve as interrogators. Divers can lie or tell the truth about what they saw. If interrogators correctly identify whether a diver is lying or telling the truth, they earn a point. If they guess wrong, the diver’s team gets the point. Winning side gets access to the trophy room and the next clue.
Hunter sees a turtle and an owl playing chess. Tells the truth but plays it like he is lying. Interrogators guess truth. Point to the interrogators. Kasey sees a monocled alligator smoking a cigar. Says she saw a frog on a lily pad. Interrogators believe her. Point to the divers. Daisy sees five pillars with heads on them. Says she saw a painting of Peter with a giraffe. Interrogators believe her. Point to the divers. Kevin sees a live mermaid. Tells the truth. Interrogators guess truth. Point to the interrogators. Tied going into the final diver.
Kat sees three meditating flamingos. Tells the truth. Looks so convincingly like she is lying that the interrogators guess wrong. Divers win.
The Trophy Room
Kat is determined to get into the trophy room to protect Kaleb. She succeeds.
Kat, to Peter in the trophy room: “I’ve been playing a very intentional dumb blonde game. I want everyone to think I have no idea what’s going on. I’m 20 steps behind. They don’t need to worry about me. But I have my nose on who the millionaire is.”
The clue: “To be on a first-name basis with the millionaire, remember the first letter.”
Kat interprets this as pointing to the letter A — which fits Kaleb, but also plenty of others. She tells the four other divers that the first letter of the clue is T, steering suspicion directly toward Lauren T. and away from Kaleb. The rest of the group, minus Hunter, still think Kaleb is suspicious. Kat goes around the house pushing the T theory. Kevin keeps telling people about Kaleb’s behavior. The house splits.
Kat eventually pulls Kaleb aside. Tells him people are suspicious of him. Tells him she thinks it is him — but that she has his back, that she is grateful the kill shot was not used on her, and that he needs a solid defense for the Kevin situation going into dinner.
Elimination Dinner
Peter reveals the millionaire completed their agenda and that the reward was significant — deliberately vague, which the house cannot decode.
Melissa opens by bringing up Kaleb. Lauren calls his behavior “wearing Kevin like a backpack.” Kaleb’s defense: “One would think that if I was trying to complete an agenda, I would not act like that. I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I’m not that stupid.” When asked why he used Melissa’s name as cover, he says he panicked.
Hunter defends him — pointedly noting he is not doing it because they are friends, but because the clues point elsewhere. He brings up Lauren T. asking older women their ages, which he argues could have been an agenda. Lauren T. fires back that Hunter is going to owe her the biggest apology in the world.
Kasey says her gut is still leaning toward Kaleb. Lauren says she does things she regrets and has not apologized “1,700 times” the way Kaleb has today. The vote is called.
The Results
Lauren T. receives the most votes. She opens her box. Empty.
“They say the truth will set you free. Good luck, you guys.”
She walks up the stairs visibly emotional. In confessional: “I really tried to prove my case. I think I was a good scapegoat. Of course I’m sad to be going home. A million dollars sounds wonderful. But I’m proud of the way I played this game. I was true to myself, and I was honest as much as I could be. I guess that’s just what bit me in the booty.”
Peter tells the group they have all been played.
The Twist
Peter then reveals the millionaire’s reward: they chose to randomly move the money to another guest’s box.
Kat falls in her seat.
In confessional: “I’m not thrilled, and I feel like I got played. I feel awful for sending an innocent person home, and now I’m back to square zero. I know nothing. I have to be suspicious of everyone again. It sucks.”
Kaleb, meanwhile, is free. No more money. No more target. No more Kevin.
The Next Morning
Peter interrupts breakfast to announce the money has been moved and that the stakes are rising. If the new millionaire completes their agenda and survives elimination, they will earn the most powerful reward yet — a double-barreled kill shot, eliminating two guests in a single night.
Nick Pellecchia opens his box. He is the new millionaire.
