From “Vanderpump Rules” Queen Bee to canceled to comeback, here’s the full ride before her new Freeform series drops
Stassi Schroeder rose to fame on “Vanderpump Rules,” was fired from the show in 2020 amid a racism controversy, rebuilt her career through motherhood and podcasting, and returns to television July 29 with her own family docuseries, “House of Stassi.“
The SUR Years That Made Her Famous

Stassi Schroeder, Lisa Vanderpump
Stassi Schroeder didn’t set out to be reality TV’s most quotable villain. She started as a hostess at Lisa Vanderpump’s West Hollywood restaurant SUR in 2010, and within a few years, she was the breakout star of “Vanderpump Rules,” the Bravo spinoff that turned a group of servers and bartenders into a full-blown pop culture phenomenon.
Stassi was the Queen Bee from day one. She coined catchphrases, feuded with half the cast, and built a persona around being unapologetically, gloriously basic, a bit she eventually turned into two New York Times bestsellers.
She was a main cast member for seasons 1 through 3 and 5 through 8, stepping back to a recurring role for season 4 while she lived in New Orleans.
Through breakups, on-again-off-again engagements to Jax Taylor‘s world of chaos, and a decade of on-camera drama, Stassi cemented herself as one of the most talked-about personalities to come out of Bravo.
The Firing That Changed Everything
In June 2020, Stassi’s “Vanderpump Rules” career ended abruptly. She and co-star Kristen Doute were fired after former castmate Faith Stowers came forward saying that in 2018, Stassi and Kristen had called the police on her over a crime she didn’t commit, based only on the fact that she was a Black woman who resembled a suspect in news coverage. The fallout was swift and serious, and Bravo cut ties with both women days later.
Stassi has addressed the incident publicly multiple times since, acknowledging the harm it caused and working to be more thoughtful about how she uses her platform. It marked one of the lowest points of her career and pushed her out of the Bravo universe for years.
Rebuilding Through Motherhood & Podcasting

Stassi didn’t disappear after “Vanderpump Rules.” She leaned into her podcast, “Straight Up with Stassi,” and kept writing, releasing her second book, “Off with My Head,” in 2022. But the bigger shift in her life came at home. She married casting agent Beau Clark in a small 2020 ceremony after getting engaged the year before, and the two welcomed daughter Hartford Charlie Rose in January 2021, followed by son Messer Rhys in September 2023.
Motherhood reshaped her public image almost as much as the firing did. The chaotic Queen Bee of SUR became a mom candidly talking about postpartum struggles, marriage, and what it’s like to rebuild a career after being publicly canceled, all while staying connected to her old world through friendships that survived the fallout.
Her ‘Vanderpump Villa’ Comeback

Stassi’s return to reality television came through her old boss. She joined “Vanderpump Villa,” Lisa Vanderpump’s Hulu series following the staff running Lisa’s European estates, appearing as a recurring guest alongside Beau and their kids starting in Season 2. The show gave Stassi a way back into the world she built her career in, minus the day-to-day drama of being an employee.
Season 2 brought its own tension, including a very public dust-up with Beau over his close bond with his half-sister, Georgia Bardetti. Season 3 upped the stakes further when Stassi’s own sister, Georgianna Aubin, showed up at Lisa’s English estate and dropped the news that she and Georgia planned to move in with Stassi and Beau back in Los Angeles, a storyline that plays out in real time on her new show.
‘House of Stassi’ & What Comes Next
Now Stassi is stepping fully back into the spotlight with “House of Stassi,” a docuseries following her life as a wife, mother, and reality TV veteran navigating a chaotic inner circle. The cast includes Beau, her kids, sister Georgianna, and familiar “Vanderpump Rules” faces like Katie Maloney, Kristina Kelly, Taylor Strecker, Rob Evors, and Taylor “Teddy” Donohue.
The trailer promises marriage friction, family tension, and Stassi trying to hold her household together while everyone around her tests her patience. It’s a fitting next chapter for someone who’s built an entire career on turning chaos into content.
House of Stassi premieres July 29 on Freeform, with the full season streaming July 30 on Hulu.
