Dolly Martinez, who appeared on Season 10 of TLC’s “My 600-Lb. Life,” passed away on April 11, 2026, according to TMZ. She was 30 years old.
According to ArtThreat, her sister Lindsey Cooper announced the news on Facebook, sharing that Dolly had been hospitalized and fighting for her life in the days before her passing. The family had asked for prayers and privacy while she remained in the hospital. No cause of death has been publicly shared.
In her tribute, Lindsey remembered Dolly for having “the brightest personality” and said her laughter and kindness could light up any room. “She had a way of making everyone feel special, and her warmth will stay with us forever,” Lindsey wrote. “While our hearts are broken here, I find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with our dad in heaven. Rest peacefully, Dolly. You will always be loved, always be missed, and never forgotten.”
Dolly appeared on “My 600-Lb. Life” as she documented her struggle with food addiction, mental health, and severe obesity. She was candid about food being her way of coping with pain, and her health had deteriorated to the point where she required supplemental oxygen and help with everyday tasks. She weighed 593 pounds at the start of her episode.
Dolly relocated from Fort Worth to Houston to be closer to Dr. Younan Nowzaradan in hopes of qualifying for weight loss surgery. Despite losing around 40 pounds, she was not approved for the procedure. Her episode ended not with a resolution but with an ongoing story — the kind the show’s format documents at its most vulnerable, before the cameras stop rolling.
In the time since her episode aired, Dolly had updated her Instagram bio to note she was “not homeless anymore” — a small but meaningful marker of the progress she was working toward.
Our thoughts are with her sister Lindsey, her family, and everyone who knew and loved her.
