Brett Otto and Daya DeArce were never the couple anyone was talking about after “90 Day Fiancé” Season 2 ended. Danielle and Mohamed were. Jason and Cassia were. Brett and Daya were the ones who quietly got married on Valentine’s Day, dealt with their problems off camera, and kept going. Over a decade later, they are still together — one of only three Season 2 couples who can say that.
How They Met
Brett Otto, a single father from Washington, and Daya De Arce, from the Philippines, met on an international dating website. Brett was initially struck by Daya’s looks and assumed she was out of his league, while Daya said she was immediately attracted to his photo and drawn to his sarcasm. They built their relationship through daily Skype calls, often talking for hours and sharing humor and affection.
Eventually Brett flew to the Philippines. After a long 15-hour flight filled with doubts about whether they would connect in person, he arrived in Manila and was greeted by Daya in a black dress. Both remembered the first hug vividly. He proposed during that visit, and Daya began the K-1 visa process shortly after.
What Made Their Season Complicated
Daya’s arrival in America came with immediate friction. Brett had a daughter, Cassidy, from a previous relationship, and the couple began living in America with two of Brett’s friends as roommates. It was not exactly the romantic fresh start Daya had imagined, and the living situation created tension from the start.
The bigger problem was Brett’s mother. She questioned the relationship openly and she and Daya got into a heated argument on camera. Her opposition was pointed enough that Brett and Daya married at the end of Season 2 without Brett’s mom in attendance. For a couple already navigating cultural differences, a blended family dynamic, and financial strain, starting a marriage without a parent present was a significant moment.
Daya also had a difficult time bonding with Cassidy early on. Fortunately, time helped — the Ottos now appear to be a happily blended family.
Life After the Show

Daya gave birth to their daughter Isabella in 2017, solidifying their bond as a family. The couple appeared briefly on 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined in 2020, which gave fans a rare update — and it was not an easy one. Brett was out of work because of the pandemic. Daya had become the family breadwinner, picking up night shifts at an assisted living facility.
It was a quiet, unglamorous kind of hard — the kind that does not make for dramatic television but says something real about a marriage. They got through it.
Brett and Daya celebrated a decade together after getting married on Valentine’s Day 2015. They live as a family of four with Brett’s older daughter and the daughter they had together.
Where They Are Now

Both Brett and Daya have largely stepped away from public life. Daya’s Instagram has not been updated in over three years, and Brett has always kept a low profile. There are no recent posts, no franchise appearances on the horizon, and no social media trail pointing to anything other than a family living quietly in Washington.
For a franchise that runs on drama and oversharing, Brett and Daya’s disappearing act is almost its own kind of statement. They came on the show, got married despite everyone’s doubts, built a blended family, weathered a pandemic, and then went home and stopped performing for an audience.
Eleven years later, that is still a marriage. In the 90 Day Fiancé universe, that is no small thing.
90 Day Fiancé and its many spinoffs are streaming now on Max. New episodes air on TLC.
