Are Kirlyam & Alan Cox Still Together? Their 90 Day Fiancé Journey & Where They Are Now

When “90 Day Fiancé” premiered in 2014, most viewers had no idea the show would eventually spawn an entire universe of spinoffs, scandal, and chaos. Season 1 was quieter — four couples navigating the K-1 visa process with real stakes and no playbook for how to handle cameras in their living rooms. Of those four original couples, none has proven more enduring than Kirlyam and Alan Cox.

Twelve years after filming, they are still married, still posting family photos, and still being called the most credible couple in franchise history. Here is their full story.

How They Met

Alan was 29 and Kirlyam was 21 when she made the move to Los Angeles to marry him. The two first crossed paths when Alan was on a Mormon mission in Kirlyam’s hometown of Goiânia, Brazil — he was 20 and she was 12. The couple has said they did not begin a romantic relationship until eight years later, when they reconnected at another missionary’s wedding.

The age gap and the unusual origin of their connection drew immediate scrutiny from viewers. Both were open about being virgins eagerly awaiting their wedding night, which also made them stand out in a franchise that would eventually become synonymous with manipulation, red flags, and very questionable intentions.

What Happened on the Show

Season 1 followed Kirlyam as she left everything she knew in Brazil and arrived in Los Angeles on a K-1 visa, navigating a new language, a new country, and a 90-day window to get married or go home. The cultural adjustment was real — she did not speak much English, she was far from her family, and she was trying to build a life with someone she had only recently reconnected with after years apart.

The two married in a Mormon temple, with Kirlyam’s family attending virtually, and celebrated their honeymoon in Hawaii.

The drama that did emerge centered not on their relationship itself but on Alan’s reaction to Kirlyam’s modeling aspirations. Fans turned on Alan when he was not supportive of her modeling career — a storyline that felt minor by the standards of what the franchise would eventually produce, but was genuine enough at the time to create tension between the couple and the audience

The Years After

They moved from Los Angeles to North Carolina, where they have built a quieter life away from the franchise spotlight. Alan works as a designer and photographer while Kirlyam is a stay-at-home mother.

The couple has welcomed two sons, Liam and Enzo, over the course of their marriage. Liam was born on October 6, 2017. Their second son Enzo was born in June 2021.

The pandemic brought an unexpected challenge. During COVID-19, Kirlyam faced a period of forced separation when she became stranded in Brazil due to travel restrictions — underscoring that even an established, genuinely happy marriage is not immune to the complications of an international relationship.

In 2025, Alan and Kirlyam traveled to Brazil with their sons, where Kirlyam was reunited with her grandmother for the first time in over ten years. She shared reflections on Instagram about the privilege of introducing her children to their roots and honoring the strong women who shaped her.

Why Producers Stopped Calling

Alan and Kirlyam have suggested that producers no longer wanted to share their story because they were not scandalous enough for the program. In a franchise that has evolved to include prison sentences, catfishing, financial abuse, and relationships built entirely on social media followings, a couple that is genuinely happy and has been since Season 1 does not exactly drive ratings.

They did appear in Season 5 of 90 Day Journey in 2021 for a brief update, but have otherwise stayed out of the TLC ecosystem entirely. Their absence from the spinoff circuit is, ironically, part of what makes fans respect them so much.

Where They Are Now

Kirlyam and Alan remain happily married after more than a decade together, living in North Carolina and focused on raising their boys while occasionally sharing milestones with fans. Their Instagram presence shows a couple that has nothing to prove and is not trying to — family travel, the boys growing up, quiet everyday moments, and the kind of genuine warmth that made people root for them in 2014 and apparently never stopped.

On Valentine’s Day 2026, Kirlyam posted a side-by-side dancing video captioned “How it started — How it’s going. Forever my Valentine. I am so extremely blessed to have my beautiful family to come back to at the end of the day. I love you forever.” A fan commented simply: “Still my favorite couple from the show.” Another wrote in Portuguese that she was the only Brazilian the show never embarrassed them with.

In April 2026, she posted a photo of the two of them in matching Amaze shirts after Alan convinced her to watch Project Hail Mary — noting it was his third time watching it and her first, and that she had not imagined she would end up crying over a rock. He made the custom shirts.

Twelve years in, and they are still doing inside jokes and matching outfits and posting love notes on Valentine’s Day. Season 1 of 90 Day Fiancé remains the only season in franchise history where all four couples are still married. Kirlyam and Alan are a big part of why that record still stands.

90 Day Fiancé and its many spinoffs are streaming now on Max. New episodes air on TLC.
