Leah Kateb, who rose to prominence after her turn in Season 6 of “Love Island USA,” was accused of cutting the bathroom line at Coachella by self-professed “nepo baby” Daphne Blunt, 28, in a TikTok that quickly went viral. The video can be seen below.
Blunt described Leah as “obnoxious,” alleging, “This girl she literally cut the entire bathroom line of the artist area. She had her security flashing lights at everybody to cut the entire line with her group of friends and pushed to the front when we were all waiting.” Blunt also took issue with Leah having personal security at all, arguing she had “no business” having guards compared to the likes of Kylie Jenner or Jeff Bezos.
Leah’s Response
Leah addressed the situation directly in a lengthy Instagram comment, and her version of events is significantly different. You can see her comment above, thanks to @therealityrundown.
“I’m sorry that was your experience! I went to a completely different bathroom than the one everyone was waiting for because Coachella security was the one who told me to go there. I’m sure you saw the extra security standing in front of the one I walked into — no line for that one, btw!! — let me in. But that didn’t fit the narrative I guess!”
On the security itself: “My security was shining the light at the floor cuz it was pitch black and I was in heels and drunk. I wasn’t with a group of friends — I was with one person, my cousin who wasn’t feeling well.”
She then explained why she brought personal security in the first place, pointing to a pattern of fan behavior that has made her genuinely uncomfortable. “Many people from LI had security. The Love Island fandom is really insane and on an entirely different scale. Last year people were grabbing my boobs and butt, kissing me on the face, and taking my hats off my head, etc., grabbing Miguel. I am a normal human. I don’t think I’m too cool or famous. Everyone deserves to feel safe and have fun. I literally just want to be safe and enjoy the festival like everyone else. All love from my end!”
Daphne Fires Back
Daphne was not done. In a follow-up TikTok posted yesterday titled “Leah Kateb is a Liar (Shocking),” she came back with receipts — and a lot of frustration. You can see the video below.
“The love island girl is a liar? I’m so shocked! I had no idea the Love Island fandom was not only insane but also stupid,” she said, addressing the backlash she received after the original video. “It’s so crazy because I made that video, and I think I said maybe three sentences about the interaction that I had with Leah Kateb, and the backlash that I’ve gotten is so psycho.”
Daphne disputed nearly every point of Leah’s response. On the lighting claim: she shared video footage of the bathroom line showing the area was lit up, not pitch black as Leah described. On the group size: she said Leah was with at least four or five people, not just one cousin — and that one of her friends who was present recognized one of Leah’s companions and confirmed it was not her cousin. On the comment deletion: fans accused Daphne of removing Leah’s, but she said she could not find it herself. Someone had already screenshotted it, and she displayed it on screen — pointing out it was clearly an Instagram comment, not a TikTok one.
She also pushed back on the security argument directly. If North West and Justin Trudeau can move through public spaces without security being obnoxious about it, she said, so can Leah.
The TikTok currently sits at 7,422 likes and 584 comments. The top comment: “me when im jealous.” The second most liked: “I had no idea who you were until Leah commented.”
This one doesn’t seem over.
