million dollar secret season 2 episode 5

‘Million Dollar Secret’ Episode 5: Clothespin Gate

Nick Pellecchia used a double-barrel kill shot, pinned clothespins on three people at a beach party, and then stabbed his best friend in the back. Just another day at The Stag.

Episode 4 ended with the house voting Kat — null and void, double-barrel kill shot unlocked. Episode 5 opens with the consequences landing immediately.

Here’s everything you need to know about “Million Dollar Secret” Episode 5.

The Kill Shot

Peter announces the kill shot is in effect. Nick chose Melissa Austin-Weeks and Kasey Coffey.

Melissa, composed and unbothered: “I’ve had a great time. Everything I told y’all was true. Nothing was a lie. And I get to go home with my head held high.”

Kasey, a little more rattled: “I’m a little shocked. I’d like to think I was the target because I’m a threat.”

Nick, in confessional: “Melissa played the game aggressively and she would’ve been adamant about getting the millionaire out. Kasey called me out at dinner, so it’s too much of a risk keeping her around. It’s not easy, and I feel bad, but it’s kind of eat or be eaten.”

Peter lets the remaining guests know that the millionaire is still in the house, their power growing by the hour. This is what happens when you do not catch them.

Narrowing the Field

The group convenes outside to compare notes. Hunter Call suggests figuring out who got the majority of votes — whoever that is can be crossed off the suspect list. Most admit they voted for Kat. Kat doesnt seem thrilled about it, despite Daisy pointing out that suspicion is now off her.

The remaining suspects are clear: Nick, Umeko, and Kevin.

The group puzzles over the kill shot choices. Melissa makes sense — she was aggressive and sharp. Kasey feels random. Kat, in confessional, does not find it random at all: “It’s really suspicious that Kasey got the kill shot. It was her that said Nick’s name at the elimination dinner. I am keeping my eye on Nick.”

The New Agendas

Peter calls the millionaire to the private study. Nick goes.

His assignment: pin clothespins on three people before the beach day activity begins. Complete it and earn two rewards — the trophy room clue canceled entirely, and up to two votes against him nullified at elimination dinner. Fail, and four votes count against him automatically, with the trophy room clue made more obvious than usual. With eight guests remaining, that combination is almost certainly a death sentence.

Nick is not the only one with a morning delivery. Umeko finds her own secret agenda waiting in her room. She must hit three people in the head with a beach ball — and in doing so, steal the million dollars from the current millionaire. The twist: both she and the current millionaire must survive the elimination dinner for the transfer to count. If she fails, four votes count against her. Her job is now to protect Nick without anyone knowing why.

Peter comes over the speaker to announce a day of sun and fun — beach day, followed by casino night. The guests head out.

The Beach

Nick pulls Hunter and Kevin aside early. He quickly realizes that attempting the clothespin with Kevin standing right there is too risky. He retreats and waits for a better moment.

Kat pulls Umeko aside and tells her she wants Nick gone. Umeko deflects — says she thinks Nick is actually more loyal than Hunter. Kat’s response: “I think we have different orders.” Nick walks up moments later and asks Kat directly if she hates him. He apologizes and says he was worried about getting kill-shotted if he did not redirect suspicion at the last dinner.

Umeko, meanwhile, moves quickly. She completes her beach ball agenda in one efficient sweep — bopping Kevin, Nick, and Kaleb on the head in rapid succession. Her job now is to keep the millionaire alive. She does not tell a soul.

Clothespin Gate Begins

Nick spots his first opening. While Lauren G. is distracted in conversation with Hunter, he quietly clips a clothespin to her shirt and walks away with Kaleb. One down.

Lauren G. mentions to Nick that she has heard rumors about him and Umeko. He jokes they have been sneaking around. She lights up — tells him their babies would be “unnaturally beautiful” and encourages the romance. Then, in confessional, she flags it immediately: “Two suspects forming a relationship sounds dangerous. I’m keeping my eye on them.”

The group moves toward the jetty. Only Kaleb, Nick, and Lauren G. are still back. Nick manages to clip Kaleb on the sleeve as they walk. Two down.

Kaleb notices immediately. He asks Nick directly if he did it. Nick barely answers — just kind of trails off. In confessional: “Kaleb totally catches me. It all just happened fast, and I barely even give an answer. This is not how I wanted it to go at all.”

Lauren G. notices her clip too. In confessional, the penny drops: “Let’s be real. That kid’s real cool. He doesn’t do a lot of awkward stuff. You know, he wears a lot of jewelry. I’m realizing very quickly — that’s an agenda item. And the millionaire, it’s handsome Nick.”

Kaleb wastes no time. He whispers to Daisy on the jetty that he knows it is Nick and explains the clothespins. Kat gets looped in. “I freakin’ knew it.” The three of them start building a game plan, knowing they can pull Kevin in but worried about Umeko and Hunter.

Nick, unbothered, finds a stray clothespin and slides it onto Umeko’s finger playfully. She puts it back on his finger. In confessional, she tilts her head: “That clothespin thing? I wonder if that’s an agenda. But also, he’s been flirting a lot. I don’t know what’s going on with that.” Either way — third clothespin done. Agenda complete.

Casino Night

Peter announces the millionaire completed their agenda. No trophy room clue this time. However, a single winner at casino night earns immunity from the next elimination dinner.

Teams split by drink order. Team Dirty: Kevin, Daisy, Lauren G., Kat. Team Twisty: Hunter, Nick, Umeko, Kaleb.

Hunter, in confessional, makes a confession of his own before the games begin: “I have not been honest about who I am. I told every single person here that I am a server at a barbecue restaurant. In fact, I play poker for a living. I gamble for thousands of dollars on a daily basis. I read people every day. I am really good at it.”

Team Twisty wins Stag roulette. Team Dirty is eliminated and goes outside — where Kevin hears about the clothespin situation for the first time. He is delighted. He hopes Nick does not win immunity.

Back inside, medallions split the remaining four into pairs. Hunter and Umeko versus Kaleb and Nick in a head-to-head game of blackjack. Before they begin, Hunter points out that two of the four players at the table are suspects. He suggests throwing the game to hand Kaleb immunity — a safe, non-suspect winner. He asks Nick if that is not what they want to do.

Nick, in confessional: “People are already suspicious of me, so I need that immunity. But it’s just not what I was raised to do. You’re here playing for a million dollars. I’m not just going to let somebody else fold my cards. I don’t care what Hunter says.”

Hunter and Umeko bust each round. By round three, Nick asks Hunter directly why he should throw the game. Hunter grows visibly suspicious. Kaleb and Nick win.

While Hunter debriefs the group on what happened at the table, Kat pulls Umeko aside and whispers that she watched Nick do the clothespin agenda — on Lauren and Kaleb. Umeko in confessional: “Oh my God. The millionaire is Nick. Hopefully Nick will get immunity because then my job is done. But if he doesn’t, I need to figure out a plan really fast.”

The final game is Nick versus Kaleb in a no-limit bluffing card game — one card each, placed where only the opponent can see it, reading faces to decide whether to call or fold. Kaleb knows he does not need immunity. He plays his best anyway. Kaleb wins. Nick tried. It was not a handed game.

The group seems happy with the result. Umeko whispers to Nick that people are talking about him. They promise each other they are not going anywhere.

The Intelligence Reveal

Guests retreat to their rooms for the night. Umeko, alone in confessional, pulls back the curtain on everything.

“There is something that nobody knows about. I actually was an intel analyst for seven years in the Navy. I joined at 18. I did operational intelligence. I did cyber intelligence. I’ve had specialized training in interrogation. I’ve learned how to pick up patterns and behaviors. Those techniques and all the things I’ve learned over the years — it’s like it has set me up for this moment.”

The woman who spent three episodes acting flustered and apologizing for being awkward is a trained Navy intelligence analyst. She has been playing a character. And now she is the only person in The Stag who knows exactly who has the money — and has a personal stake in keeping him alive.

Nick and Umeko end up alone in the hot tub. Nick is still frustrated about Hunter suggesting he throw the game. Umeko sees the opening immediately. She suggests that Hunter’s pushiness makes him a natural target — that getting rid of him could actually be the smarter play.

Nick in confessional: “I love Hunter. He’s my boy. But I’m the frontrunner for having the money right now. Up to two votes for me get canceled, but I don’t think that would be enough to keep me in the game. It’s tough to backdoor Hunter, but I gotta do what I gotta do.”

The Morning Push

Peter reminds the group there will be no trophy room — Kaleb has immunity, use the time wisely.

At breakfast, Lauren drops the clothespin story in front of the entire group. She calls it clothespin gate. Hunter, in confessional: “Nick is the millionaire and he sealed it at casino night. This is going to be the quickest and easiest elimination dinner we’ve ever had.”

Umeko moves fast. She pulls Daisy and pitches the idea — protect Nick, vote out Hunter. Her argument: Nick is too cautious to do anything reckless, Hunter is showing who he really is, and he only has his own back. Daisy agrees immediately. In confessional: “Keep the millionaire. This is so much smarter. And after we vote out Hunter, we take out Nick. It’s too good to pass up.”

Daisy takes the plan to Kaleb and Lauren G. Umeko takes it to Kevin and Kat.

Kat resists. She can’t believe the house is moving in this direction. Hunter was not even on the suspect list. In confessional: “I think Nick is a way bigger threat. It’s actually blowing my mind.”

Lauren G., in confessional: “The plan to target sweet, beautiful, dummy Hunter hurts my heart a little bit. However, it would give us some safety for at least two more rounds. And I’m great with that plan.”

Kaleb, in confessional: “I woke up this morning thinking we’re going to take out the millionaire. And then I found out we’re going to backdoor Hunter? And it was my best friend Umeko who came up with this idea. Umeko — think with your head, not your — ” He points down. “I have got to figure out the best path forward for me.”

Hunter, Kaleb, and Kat meet. Hunter says it is clear what is going to happen tonight. Kat struggles to maintain composure — tells him people are voting for him, not because they think he is the millionaire, but because he is a strong player. Kaleb confirms he has heard the same. Hunter says it is concerning. He heads into elimination dinner knowing he has heavy lifting to do.

Elimination Dinner

Hunter opens the conversation — he has heard votes are coming his way and thought they were unanimous going in. Kat admits she warned him. Daisy admits she knew. Hunter appreciates it and does not take it personally — deflects immediately to Nick being the millionaire, brings up the casino night refusal to throw the game. Nick says he fought for himself. Hunter says that is exactly the problem.

Lauren G. brings up the clothespins. Nick says he was just playing with some that were lying around. The table does not buy it.

Kaleb pushes back on the plan to vote Hunter. It is not their job to eliminate someone who stood up for them in order to catch the millionaire. Hunter makes his case — he has made decisions for the group, not just himself, and that kind of loyalty matters more than whatever threat he apparently poses. Nick tries to interrupt. Hunter asks him to let him finish.

Umeko says she thinks Hunter has the ability to turn on her. Kaleb raises the stakes — nobody knows what the millionaire’s next reward could be. Another double kill shot. A triple. Immunity again. Everything is on the table if they do not act now. Nick leans into it: “What if the millionaire stays and his power goes?” Hunter fires back: “What if — exactly.” Nick: “Might be best to be on that squad.”

Votes are cast. Hunter, in confessional, says he is worried. He feels blindsided. He feels like he is about to be stabbed in the back.

Peter announces the votes have been tallied and a decision has been made.
