“Southern Hospitality” Season 4, Episode 7 was anything but boring.
Joe and Maddi Are Still Not Okay.
Episode 7 picks up with Joe and Maddi still on the outs after their fight. Joe says this is their first major fight and he’s bummed about it, but maintains he never meant to lie — he just didn’t update her on his whereabouts, and she had his location the entire time.
The issue is more layered than a missed text. Maddi’s sobriety sponsor Julia returned to give her a much-needed sounding board. Maddi admitted she feels triggered by Joe’s relationship with alcohol, because her parents were drinkers when she was growing up. She doesn’t want to perpetuate the cycle. “You can’t hold your dreams and your drink in the same hand,” Julia told her.
Joe opened up to TJ about the fight during a skin mapping appointment — where, for the record, Joe’s skin age clocked in at 24 despite him being 29, which he credited to Italian heritage and olive oil. He told TJ he feels attacked when Maddi brings up his drinking, insisting he doesn’t drink as much as he used to.
Michols Peña Lands a Magazine Cover — Then His Mom Doesn’t Pick Up
Michols got some genuinely exciting news this episode: his agent landed him the digital cover of an online LGBTQ magazine, a first step toward the modeling career he’s been building toward. He arrived at the shoot pumped, that is until he tried to FaceTime his mom from set to share the news. She didn’t want to answer, saying she didn’t want to be on camera. Michols was visibly let down.
The moment landed quietly but hit hard. He wanted her to be proud of it. She didn’t even pick up.
Michols also asked Mia and Justin point-blank during the episode whether they had gone on a date. They denied it.
The Sip and Paint Goes Sideways
Lake organized a Paint and Sip event at Leva’s new frozen daiquiri bar, Zach’s Daiqs — an event Leva loved and called a success. Lake had billed it as “fun and drama-free.” Famous last words. The drama started before the paint dried.
Lake had already been doing Instagram detective work earlier in the episode, spotting what she claimed was the outline of a woman in a food photo Justin posted to his stories. Her verdict: it was MIa’s “fake titties” and “split ends.”
Mia showed up, and Molly immediately pulled her aside to suggest she speak with Jordyn to diffuse the tension. Mia was not having it — she feels her anger should be directed at Justin, not her. “I don’t need all these backups to have a simple discussion,” Mia said.
Lake then called out Mia for not apologizing to Jordyn, which blew Molly’s mind because she felt Lake was the one stirring the pot.
It escalated from there. Lake admitted she doesn’t like Molly in general and was only forced by Leva to include her in the planning. Molly was not pleased. Jordyn, the person everyone was supposedly fighting for, barely said anything. Lake is fighting somebody else’s battle louder than that person is fighting it themselves.
Justin Just Wants Out
Justin is officially done with the drama. He told the group he was upfront and clear with Jordyn about where things stood, and he doesn’t know where all of this is coming from. He’s ready to cut all ties. Jordyn, meanwhile, told Lake everyone will eventually learn who he really is.
The Reunion Seating Chart Is Here — and There Are Surprises
The episode had barely aired before Bravo dropped a bigger conversation piece: the official Season 4 reunion seating chart.
Maddi Reese and Leva Bonaparte are both in the first chairs next to Andy Cohen, with Joe Bradley and Emmy Sharrett seated beside them. On Maddi’s side: Brad Carter, Mia Alario, TJ Dinch, and Molly Moore. On Leva’s side: Michols Peña, Lake Rucker, Grace Lilly, and Justin Assad.
The Grace Lilly inclusion got immediate attention from fans. “GL is there!!” one fan account commented, given the tough season she has had both on and off screen. “I hope we get a good update on Grace!” another added.
The Queens of Bravo Instagram caption noted the milestone: “This time — they get a stage, NOT WWHL set!” This is the first “Southern Hospitality” reunion to move off the WWHL set and onto a full stage. Not everyone was thrilled about the timing of the reveal though. “How is this filming before the Summer House reunion?” one commenter wrote. “Give us Summer House, not this!” agreed someone else.
“Southern Hospitality” airs Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo and streams on Peacock.
