Last night’s “Summer House” was not a shocking twist or a single explosive moment. It was a slow accumulation of scenes that, watched with the benefit of knowing what happens next, hit completely differently.
West Wilson spent the episode with another girl on the pool chair — playing with her hair, visibly comfortable. Amanda Batula walked up mid-scene and asked him, “Can I come in for a cuddle?” It did not land as a joke. It landed as exactly what it looked like.
As she walked away, she told him: “I got to go. Watch my butt as I walk away.” West was still sitting there with the other girl.
That was not the worst part.
The Ciara Scene That Broke Everyone
While all of this was playing out, Ciara Miller sat with Amanda and said something that stopped the episode cold.
“We all say dumb shit. But I think, also, there’s a part of this where you’re, like, used to being beaten down. And to think that your opinion is stupid, or whatever you think is stupid — you don’t realize your magic. Like, half the things Kyle says, does, is because of you.”
She was crying. She hated seeing her friend hurting.
Amanda started crying too. Mia and Ciara embraced her as she told them: “I’m really grateful to have you guys as friends.”
Virtual Reali-Tea’s response was immediate: “This scene is CHILLING. It almost felt like Amanda couldn’t accept Ciara’s praise because she knew she was actively wronging her.”
@laurennovik put it plainly in the comments: “Ciara comforting Amanda was harder to watch than anything else that went down imo. My gawd.”
The Callback Fans Cannot Stop Talking About
In an earlier episode, Ciara told the group about West: “Here’s the thing about West. When he sits on you, he has a crush.”
In last night’s episode, West sat on Amanda at the pool while she laughed and told him: “Stop farting on me, you sicko.”
The internet remembered immediately. @shelly_goodtimes: “Omg i forgot she said that!” @cvilaysinh: “I just rewatched this season since all the craziness went down… Completely different view of things! It’s so obvious they were already doing stuff.”
Michael Rapaport Weighed In

The Virtual Reali-Tea post showing West sitting on Amanda pulled 2,373 likes in three hours — and one of the most-liked comments came from Michael Rapaport: “HELLLLLLLLLL NO!!!! I use to consider myself the jealous type, not so much anymore HOWEVER this is insanely inappropriate to be doing to another man’s GF let alone WIFE. NOPE.”
He was not alone. @mel/@melrocks_ put it simply over the pool chair footage: “west and amanda ruined my favourite show I don’t even want to watch it anymore.”
Kyle Cooke Watched Too

Kyle Cooke posted to the “Summer House” community tab on Instagram: “I’ve watched some hard to re-live moments over the last 10 years. I’ve also seen things unfold as a viewer that I wasn’t privy to as a cast member. Last night’s episode? WTF 😅”
523 likes. 45 comments. The replies said the rest. @mirandmossavar: “Being team Kyle was not on my bingo card.” @royce.wynner: “I wonder if he’s still worried about her mental health.”
Page Six posted a clip of Amanda looking conflicted with a fan tweet overlay: “It’s kinda hard to watch Summer House knowing about Amanda and West now.” Their own caption read: “Ciara could literally be dating someone right now for all I know but I feel like I just cheated on my wife.”
The Season Looks Different Now
The backlash is loud because none of this needed context. The footage did the work. Ciara defended Amanda’s worth while Amanda was already choosing West. The cuddle ask, the “watch my butt,” the sitting — all of it filmed, all of it airing now, with everyone already knowing how the story ends.
@busybeemama35 said what a lot of people were thinking: “Amanda will always be the girl that chose a boy and didn’t go to Paris! She had amazing gfs and could have had an Ariana or Paige type of comeback after her divorce from Kyle, but she chose a guy from the Midwest.”
@dragonflymelia_23: “This just keeps getting worse and worse, making Kyle look bad all the time and accusing him when she was doing it all along.”
“Summer House” Season 10 airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo and streams next day on Peacock.
