Are Louis & Aya Gattone Still Together? Their 90 Day Journey & Where They Are Now

When “90 Day Fiancé” premiered in 2014, Louis and Aya Gattone were the couple nobody expected to root for. He was a divorced father of two from Indianapolis with a complicated family dynamic. She was from Ormoc in the Philippines, moving to the American Midwest to marry a man she had met on the internet. His ex-wife had opinions about all of it, and she was not shy about sharing them.

Twelve years later, Louis and Aya are still married, still in Indiana, and raising four boys together. The skeptics were wrong.

How They Met

Louis Roy Gattone Jr. from Indianapolis, Indiana, met Aya from Ormoc, Philippines, via an online dating service back in 2012. After they found each other and started talking, the pair realized they had a genuine connection, and Louis proposed not long after.

The setup raised immediate eyebrows. Louis already had two sons from his previous marriage, he was in his early thirties, and he was asking a woman from the Philippines to uproot her entire life and move to Indiana. Viewers came in skeptical and the show gave them plenty of reasons to stay that way — at least early on.

What Made Their Season Unforgettable

The tension in Louis and Aya’s story was not between the two of them. It was between Aya and the life she was walking into. Louis’s ex-wife was a consistent and uncomfortable presence throughout their season, inserting herself into the relationship in ways that went well beyond co-parenting logistics.

The most talked-about moment was the ex-wife sitting down with Aya and questioning her directly about whether she planned to have children with Louis. She made it clear that she and Louis had an understanding — no more kids — and seemed to expect that agreement to carry over into his new marriage. She asked Aya about birth control. On camera. To her face.

It was one of the more truly jaw-dropping scenes of Season 1, and it put Aya in an impossible position before she had even fully settled into her new country. She handled it with more grace than most people would have managed.

Despite all of it, Aya was able to build a relationship with Louis’s two boys and his ex-wife within the 90 days and feel a part of the family. They married in a Catholic church ceremony in 2014 and have remained together ever since.

Building a Life in Indiana

Louis and Aya stepped back from the public eye almost immediately after the show ended, which in the 90 Day Fiancé universe. No Happily Ever After spinoffs, no social media drama, no keeping up with the franchise for a paycheck. They just went home to Indiana and got on with it.

In June 2018, they welcomed their son Giovanni. Their second son Stefano arrived in November 2020. Louis made a joke at the time about not being able to make girls — he already had two sons from his first marriage, and Giovanni and Stefano made four boys in total.

The ex-wife who interrogated Aya about birth control on national television got her answer. It just took a few years.

Louis now reportedly works as an information security engineer. In 2021, Louis and Aya launched a small crafting business together called Rustic Charm by Design, handcrafting rustic wood decor and jewelry. The business also operates under the name Lola Lily’s. They asked fans to follow and share their pages, which was about as much of a public presence as they were willing to maintain.

Where They Are Now

Louis and Aya currently live in Johnson County, Indiana with their four boys. Aya’s Instagram is private and has been for years — Louis has mentioned that she does not like being recognized in public, though both of them appreciate positive comments from fans of the show.

They are the quietest success story of Season 1, which is saying something given that Kirlyam and Alan are also not exactly chasing the spotlight. But where Kirlyam and Alan still share family milestones with their followers and Paola has built an entire second career in professional wrestling, Louis and Aya have simply disappeared into a happy, private life in Indiana with their kids and their wood crafting business.

Season 1 of 90 Day Fiancé remains the only season in franchise history where all four couples are still married — and Louis and Aya are a part of that record, even if they would rather nobody made a fuss about it.

90 Day Fiancé and its many spinoffs are streaming now on Max. New episodes air on TLC.
