Justin and Evelyn Halas are the couple from “90 Day Fiancé” Season 2 that fans most often forget — not because they were boring, but because they were refreshingly normal. No villains, no fraud allegations, no tell-all implosions. Just two people who met at a sporting event in Colombia, figured out how to make an international marriage work in California, and have been quietly building a life together ever since.
Eleven years later, they are still going strong.
How They Met
Justin Halas, a physical education teacher from San Jose, California, traveled to Colombia for the 2013 World Games in Cali, where he happened to attend a rugby match. That is where he first noticed Evelyn — her mysterious vibe and approachable smile caught his attention immediately, and the fact that she spoke English made it easier for the two to connect.
They fell fast. The problem was that Justin fell so fast he got engaged before he had told anyone at home that he was even seeing someone. Justin neglected to tell his family about Evelyn before their whirlwind engagement after only three months together. His family’s first introduction to Evelyn was essentially: meet the woman I am bringing to America to marry. Their reaction was not warm, and the season spent considerable time on their skepticism — his family wondering whether Evelyn was using him to get to the United States, Evelyn trying to win people over in a country where she barely knew anyone.
She eventually did. They married in 2014 and the cameras moved on to more dramatic couples.
Building a Life in California
Justin and Evelyn settled in San Jose, California, where they have remained ever since. While some 90 Day Fiancé alumni chase extended reality TV fame, the Halases largely stepped away from the spotlight, preferring a more private lifestyle. Justin’s Instagram is private and he has kept almost entirely off social media. Evelyn — who legally changed the spelling of her name from Evelin to Evelyn after the show — has been the one sharing updates with fans over the years.
On September 1, 2020, Justin and Evelyn welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Nathan. Evelyn documented her pregnancy openly, updating followers through every stage and eventually announcing they were having a boy. For a couple that had spent years flying under the radar, Nathan’s arrival gave fans a reason to check back in.
On Mother’s Day 2025, Evelyn posted a pregnancy photo from that time alongside a note to her son: “Being a mom has been the greatest challenge of my life. Giving you life and continuing to take care of you until the end of my days is the most valuable feat of my existence, beloved son.” It was exactly the kind of post that reminds you why people rooted for this couple in the first place.
Where They Are Now
In August 2025, Evelyn marked their 11th wedding anniversary with a post that said everything about where they stand. “Happy 11th Anniversary, my love! 08/23/2014 was a beautiful day for us! And here we are — eleven years later! Happy Anniversary, my love. Eleven years of learning, love and control. I love you my handsome gringo.”
As of 2025, Justin and Evelyn are married and living in San Jose, California, with their son Nathan. Evelyn posts regularly — family moments, Nathan growing up, the occasional glimpse of their life in California. Justin stays private. Nathan, by all accounts, is thriving.
They are not the couple anyone talked about after Season 2 ended. Danielle and Mohamed were. Jason and Cassia were. Justin and Evelyn just went home to California and got on with it. Eleven years later, that quiet choice looks like the smartest one anyone from that season made.
