The summer is over. The group chat is complicated. Here is where everyone landed.
The cast of “Calabasas Confidential” spent a summer in Calabasas relitigating the past, falling into old patterns, and occasionally surprising themselves. Now that Season 1 has wrapped, the question everyone is asking is the same one the show spent eight episodes building toward: did any of it actually change anything?
The answer, depending on who you ask, is yes, no, and it’s complicated — sometimes all three at once.
Jemma Durant & Dylan Wolf
The season ended where it arguably had to: with the two of them finally sitting down and having the conversation Jemma spent eight episodes working toward. In the finale, Jemma announced “war is over” to the friend group after a heart-to-heart with Dylan, saying the conversation brought them closure and that they were able to put things in the past and start fresh. Dylan apologized for the pain he caused and admitted his behavior had stemmed more from his own personal struggles than from anything about her specifically.
Then, that closure was immediately put to the test when Jemma snuck into Dylan’s room later that night. Dylan later joked that she may have just turned off the lights while he was asleep, but the timing and context raised questions. He says she was just checking on him to make sure he was all right.
Post-season, the two confirmed they are not together romantically. Dylan told Tudum they are in “a healthy place, for once in a really long time” and that he wishes nothing but the best for her. Jemma, for her part, confirmed she has “learned to no longer kiss and tell.”
Jemma & Nolan
The rooftop kiss in Episode 5 was the first thing all season that belonged entirely to Jemma — no Dylan, no group dynamics, no history attached to it. By the finale, the two had yet to make things exclusive. Jemma has since confirmed she learned something from the summer she would not take back — “I’m a 24-year-old girl. I’m navigating a lot of emotions. I wouldn’t take anything back, but I definitely did learn from it.”
When asked post-season whether she is still involved with someone from the group, she confirmed only that she has “learned to no longer kiss and tell.” Whether that applies to Nolan, Dylan, or both is a question she is clearly enjoying not answering.
Dylan Wolfe & Suede Brooks
Suede spent the back half of the season defending Dylan to the friends who warned her about him — and then, in the finale, became the one doing the warning. After their fling ran its course, Suede told Dylan directly: “I feel like now I get Jemma. You f**ked Jemma up, babe. Like, bad. The way you treat women.”
Post-season, the door is not fully closed. Suede and Dylan still follow each other, and after filming ended the two were still visibly flirting on social media — she commented “there he goes” on one of his posts and he replied “buzz me in.” Dylan then briefly pursued Delilah Belle Hamlin, which appears to be when the social media flirtation with Suede cooled. He has since confirmed that relationship is also over.
Suede’s post-season assessment of Dylan is generous given everything: “He’s one of my favorite people. How could you get mad at him for longer than a few hours?” As for Jemma, Suede confirmed the two are no longer friends, saying they “don’t share the same values.”
In an interview with Swoon, they both admit that they wouldn’t have changed a thing from their summer.
Suede Brooks & Nicole Sahebi
The FaceTime ambush in Episode 5 cracked something that had been one of the show’s warmest dynamics. Nicole says that when she was at the core of it, she was furious with Suede for putting her in that position — but that it was an experience she had to go through to understand how a friend group this size actually works.
Suede, for her part, has since confirmed that she and Jemma are no longer friends because they do not share the same values — which tells you something about where her loyalties ultimately landed. Whether that extends to Nicole is not something either has addressed publicly.
Emilie Nelson & Ben Favaedi
The season’s most accelerated romance — they met at a rooftop party and were saying they were falling in love on a beach two weeks later — did not survive the distance. They did see each other in New York after filming wrapped, but have since kept things as friends. Both felt that knowing each other for only a month before he left for New York was no basis to start a relationship. A fair call. An anticlimactic one.
Alexie, meanwhile, moved to New York to pursue modeling — which means she and Ben are now in the same city, so the door Emilie closed may not stay closed forever.
Emilie Nelson & Alexie Olivo
Their argument over Ben escalated to Emilie telling Alexie she needed to stop gaslighting her, which is a hard thing to walk back from in a childhood friendship, but it did not end the friendship entirely.
When Emilie was in New York, she and Alexie met up for matcha and debriefed everything that happened during filming. Emilie described it as pretty productive — a chance to decompress and see each other again outside of the cameras. Not fully repaired, but not over either.
Emilie Nelson & Kimora Lewis
The shortest answer on the board. Kimora and Emilie’s friendship has not recovered from Kiki-Chella. The jacket, the earrings, Hercy — it was too much buildup and the confrontation burned too hot. Three episodes of fallout confirmed what Kimora said in Episode 3: she realized her best friend was never her real friend.
Kimora is direct about where things stand: “Honestly, ever since we had that big blowout at my house, we have not spoken since. I just opened my home to her, and I feel like a lesson I learned was that she was never truly grateful for all the things I would do for her.”
At some point, the tally becomes too long to settle over matcha.
Preston Pippen & Alexie Olivo
In the finale, Preston and Alexie pulled each other aside for a surprisingly honest conversation about where they stand, with Preston floating the idea of Alexie joining him in Miami for some one-on-one time.
Post-season, Preston is keeping his cards close. “I think we’re both in a really good place, and yeah, I’m going to leave it at that,” he said. “I’m not going to say too much.”
Whether that means the friend zone finally has an exit or they are simply in a better place than the cameras captured, he is not saying. For now, the Preston and Alexie situation remains exactly what it has always been — unresolved, and apparently by design.
As shown above, Preston raised his hand at the post-season cast interview with Swoon as being in a situationship, and Alexie wasn’t present. Alexie has since moved to New York to pursue modeling, which either puts more distance between them or gives them a reason to find out whether what they have survives a change of scenery.
Emma Medrano
Emma ended the season with a cleaner social media map than almost anyone else in the cast. As of the Season 1 premiere, she is following Emilie, Suede, Ben, Alexie, Kimora, Sterling, and Raine — and not following Jemma, Nicole, Dylan, Preston, Hercy, or Jodie.
The follow list tells the story of where she landed when the summer was over, and it largely tracks with who in the group gave her a fair shot versus who had already decided who she was before she opened her mouth.
Hercy Miller
Hercy appears to be single following the season. The Emilie chapter closed once she got the ick, and his focus since filming has been basketball — spending months in an NCAA eligibility battle before finally getting cleared to play at UNO mid-season. The NBA dream is still the priority. Everything else is secondary.
Hercy Miller & Raine Michaels
Raine spent part of the summer abroad before reconnecting with the group, and whatever connection she and Hercy had never fully developed on screen. Both their love lives remain a mystery post-season. If there was something there, the show did not develop it and neither has said so since.
Kimora Lewis
Kimora confirmed at the post-season cast interview that she is seeing someone — but that it’s nobody from the cast. She has been focused on her music in the months since filming, which tracks with the version of Kimora the show introduced: someone who threw a carnival to celebrate her own single and left the party in tears, and who is still standing on the other side of it.
She is among the cast members who say they are ready to film Season 2 as soon as possible, which suggests whatever she lost this summer, she is not done making people watch her rebuild it.
Sterline Retzlaff & Brynn Rumfallo
The easiest answer in the whole cast. Sterling confirmed post-season that he and Brynn are still together. Episode 8 marked Brynn’s first introduction to the full friend group, and by all accounts she is navigating it the same way she navigates most things — quietly, with a small circle, and on her own terms. Sterling clearly respects that. It is the most functional relationship dynamic the show produced, which says something about Calabasas.
The two recently celebrated their two year anniversary and are proud puppy parents to a dog named Rudy.
Jodie Woods
Jodie was one of the quieter presences in the group’s romantic drama all season — more observer than participant, more loyal friend than active instigator.
Post-season, that changed. Like her sister Jordyn, Jodie is currently romancing an NBA player, and after months of dating rumors, she and Peyton made things official. She raised her hand at the post-season cast interview as being in a situationship, then shook her head when asked to share details and said simply, “I’m okay.”
She is, apparently, more than okay.
