Euphoria” returned to the red carpet on April 7 at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, four years after Season 2 and with enough behind-the-scenes chatter to rival anything happening on screen.

Who Was There

Zendaya arrived in an Ashi Studio Couture halter gown styled by Law Roach, accessorized with Chopard jewels and a new bixie cut, according to ABC News. Sydney Sweeney went archival in a white caped Pierre Cardin dress from 2007, styled by Molly Dickson. Jacob Elordi kept it sharp in a black Bottega Veneta suit and sunglasses. Hunter Schafer wore a gold sequined Roberto Cavalli dress. Alexa Demie went vintage in a black-and-white striped Bob Mackie gown. Maude Apatow opted for a sleek black Celine midi dress.

Newcomers Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Danielle Deadwyler, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Priscilla Delgado, Trisha Paytas, Asante Blackk, and Eli Roth also walked the carpet. Colman Domingo was notably absent. According to Variety, he was in New York City preparing to host “Saturday Night Live.”

It was a bittersweet night. Creator Sam Levinson spoke to Extra about the late Eric Dane, who completed his work on Season 3 before his death in February following a battle with ALS, saying Dane showed up every day with “such grace and dignity.”

What Fans Noticed

The fashion was not the story fans were talking about by the end of the night. Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney attended the same high-profile event but were not seen together during the red carpet arrivals. Sweeney arrived earlier and posed with castmates, while Zendaya appeared later and was photographed separately. There were no images of the pair together during the event, and Zendaya did not attend the official afterparty.

Page Six cited an insider who suggested the two actresses have maintained limited interaction during promotional activities for Season 3, with press engagements kept “to a minimum to avoid any awkward encounters on camera.”

Neither Zendaya nor Sweeney has publicly addressed the speculation, and their representatives have not commented. A separate source pushed back on the feud narrative entirely, attributing the lack of overlap to timing and the reality that both women are “in high demand and working continuously.”

The theories filling the gap are varied — unnamed sources have cited everything from political differences to on-set dynamics involving third parties — but none have been confirmed by anyone on the record.

Where Things Stand with the Show

Zendaya told Drew Barrymore on April 6 that Season 3 will likely be the final season. “Closure is coming,” she said.

She also stepped back from her executive producer credit for this season, and reports have pointed to a strained working relationship with creator Sam Levinson during the long delay between seasons.

According to CNN, the show is also moving forward without composer Labrinth, who released a critical statement in March directed at HBO and Columbia Records. His music was removed from Season 3, with Hans Zimmer stepping in as replacement composer.

Season 3 is eight episodes, airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and Max through May 31.
