Ciara Miller and Sydney Sweeney Just Co-Signed the Most Pointed Message About Stealing a Friend’s Ex

Ciara Miller is not saying anything directly. She doesn’t have to. She brought Sydney Sweeney in to do it with her.

The “Summer House” star attended HBO Max’s “Euphoria” Season 3 premiere event Tuesday night and sat down for a press reel interview alongside star Sydney Sweeney. The clip, posted to the platform’s Instagram, racked up 78,200 likes in under an hour. It reads less like Cassie Howard and more like Amanda Batula and West Wilson.

The Clip

“I mean, if you steal your friend’s ex-boyfriend—” Ciara began.

Sydney jumped in. “It’s—not good.”

Ciara pressed: “What do you think is the next step?”

Sydney hesitated. “I honestly—”

Ciara finished it for her: “I feel like you ought to get married.”

Sydney added, “I mean… I would hope—you’ve got to make it work—”

Ciara nodded. “You’ve got to make it worth it.”

A beat. A direct look into the camera.

Sydney: “Because that’s just worth too much pain.”

Ciara, simply: “Yeah.”

The HBO Max’s own account captioned it: “Asking for a friend. #Euphoria.”

The Comments

The internet responded within minutes. Maddi Reese, currently starring on “Southern Hospitality” Season 4, dropped in with “Iconic behavior.”

@abbybaffoe wrote “Ciara I’m screamingggggggg the look to the camera ilysm” and collected 3,986 likes.

@lucyontheground: “Gets glam, grabs a mic, goes to work and eviscerates them with one line. Brilliant.”

@portia.noir: “I love when Ciara breaks a fourth wall.”

NYX Cosmetics called her “so real for this.” Pepsi declared her “so iconic.” SheaMoisture labeled it “BOOTS ON THE GROUND JOURNALISM.”

@rayna.greenberg tagged Ciara’s account and wrote “@ciaramiller___ for every red carpet ever.”

One commenter offered the lone note of restraint: “Love Ciara but hopefully she doesn’t make this entire ordeal her personality for the next few months… she’s got way more to offer than that.” It drew significantly fewer likes than anything else.

The Context

Amanda Batula confirmed a relationship with West Wilson, Ciara’s ex and “Summer House” castmate, on March 31. This was weeks after she and Kyle Cooke announced their separation. Ciara has not made a public statement. Between her red carpet “I’ve been better,” the cryptic captions, the Rihanna unfollow, and now this, she has built one of the most composed and quietly devastating public responses to a scandal in recent Bravo memory.

“You got to make it worth it.” Said with a smile. Into the camera. At a Hollywood premiere. Alongside one of the biggest stars in the world.

The “Summer House” Season 10 reunion films later this month.
In the City,” starring Amanda, Kyle, and Lindsay, premieres May 19 on Bravo.
“Euphoria” Season 3 premieres April 12 on HBO Max.
