Louisiana-born, Texas-raised, Peru and Mexico City roots — and a pattern of going back to the wrong guy. She says she’s done with that.
Kassy Castillo has been in a villa before. Twice, actually. Third time is the charm — and this time, the show is designed to help her find it.
Here’s everything you need to know about Kassy Castillo ahead of the “Perfect Match” premiere.
Who Is Kassy Castillo?
Born Kassandra Castillo, she goes by Kassy and grew up in Zachary, Louisiana, before moving to Fort Worth, Texas, during her junior year of high school. She has roots in Peru and Mexico City, earned her degree in 2020, and was studying real estate before “Love Island” came calling.
Her free spirit reputation is backed by some memorable details: she collects crystals, reads adult bedtime stories, and once got a tattoo inside her lower lip to impress a guy. The tattoo reads “Bite Me.” Her mom wasn’t thrilled.
She has since built a following of over 300,000 on Instagram and has modeled for Maybelline, Pretty Little Thing, White Fox Boutique, and Revolve.
Going into Season 5, Kassy described herself as someone who falls in love easily — usually with the wrong guys. What followed on screen was a very thorough demonstration of exactly that.
The ‘Love Island USA’ Season 5 Chapter
Kassy entered the Season 5 villa on day one and immediately connected with Leonardo Dionicio. Their relationship was one of the most chaotic of the season. Leo pursued Anna Kurdys, sending Kassy to couple up with Carsten “Bergie” Bergersen — later of “The Traitors” Season 2 fame. No romantic connection developed with Bergie, but the pairing kept her in the villa long enough to recouple with Leo.
Then Casa Amor happened, and Leo left her again — this time for newcomer Johnnie Garcia. Kassy explored a connection with Matia Marcantuoni, ended it to go back to Leo, and then both she and Leo ended up single after Leo and Johnnie split.
In a twist the show did not see coming, Kassy developed feelings for Johnnie — two women with very legitimate grievances against the same man finding solidarity. It didn’t develop into a full storyline, but it was memorable. Ultimately, Kassy and Leo finished the season as runners-up. They broke up shortly after.
The ‘Love Island USA’ Season 6 Return
Rather than stepping back after Season 5, Kassy returned for Season 6 — entering the villa on day 27 as a bombshell. Her stated focus was forming a genuine connection, with a specific early interest in Rob Rausch, noting they had known each other from the previous season but had both been pursuing other people at the time. She was eliminated on day 30. Three days in the villa was not enough to find what she was looking for.
Worth noting for “Perfect Match” viewers: Rob Rausch went on to appear on “The Traitors” Season 4, where he won by betraying his closest ally Maura Higgins — who was just announced as one of the first members for Dancing With the Stars Season 35.
Why Kassy Castillo Is One to Watch
Kassy Castillo has been in two “Love Island” villas, finished as runner-up with a man who left her repeatedly, came back for a second shot, and is now walking into “Perfect Match.”
The pattern she described going into Season 5 — falling for the wrong guys — is something she has plenty of on-camera evidence behind it.
“Perfect Match” is a different kind of format than “Love Island,” with more deliberate matchmaking and more strategic compatibility testing. Whether a show with more structure finally gets Kassy to the right person is the question worth watching.
“Perfect Match” Season 4 premieres May 13 on Netflix.
