Netflix announced the “Perfect Match” Season 4 cast last week, and Yamen Sanders was on the list. There is just one problem. Yamen Sanders does not appear to be single.

After “Perfect Match” filmed, Yamen headed to “Love Island: All Stars” Season 3, the UK franchise’s returning favorites edition. He entered Villa USA on day 14 as a bombshell — meaning he came in after the season had already started. He was 31 years old, LA-based, fluent in Italian from growing up around the world, and, as it turned out, exactly Whitney Adebayo’s type.
Whitney had started the season with other connections that didn’t stick. When the American contingent arrived and Yamen walked in, the shift was immediate. They clicked fast. By week four they had earned a date outside the villa — a vineyard outing where Yamen told her he was “excited for us to step out.”
Both of their families responded warmly during the traditional phone calls home. Yamen’s father told him the couple looked “perfect” and that everyone would be happy to meet Whitney.

Four days ago, Whitney posted a beach photo with Yamen captioned “still here 💚” — a very deliberate two-word statement to anyone who had been speculating about the relationship’s status. So What Happens on ‘Perfect Match’?
Here is the part that makes this genuinely interesting from a television standpoint.
“Perfect Match” Season 4 premieres May 13. The show was filmed six months ago. What happens on “Perfect Match” hasn’t aired yet — but the timeline raises questions. By the time filming wrapped, Yamen went on to appear on “Love Island: All Stars” and built a real connection with Whitney Adebayo that has clearly continued off-screen.
Whatever happened in the “Perfect Match” villa is sealed inside those eight episodes, and viewers are going to watch it knowing that the man on screen is currently posting Jamaica kissing videos with someone he met afterward.
Whether “Perfect Match” addresses Yamen’s current relationship status on screen — through a confessional, a host conversation, or an end card update — remains to be seen. What is not in question is that Yamen Sanders went looking for love on a Netflix dating show, came up empty, tried again on a British island, and came home with Whitney Adebayo and a Jamaica photo carousel.
Sometimes the perfect match doesn’t happen where you expect it to.
