Where Is Joey Sasso From ‘The Circle’ Now?

Joseph “Joey” Sasso is a 31-year-old actor, content creator, and reality TV personality from Rochester, New York. He moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting before Netflix came calling, and by his own description was a “broke bartender” living day-to-day when he applied for “The Circle.” He didn’t expect to win, but he won anyway. And the six years since have looked less like a reality TV footnote and more like a slow-burn acting career actually finding its footing.

He goes by @joeysasso on Instagram with 736,000 followers, leads his bio with “Actor,” and has two daughters with a woman named Capriana, whom he has kept largely private. His Thanksgiving posts and Halloween costume photos with his girls are the warmest content on his feed, and they are completely at odds with the “Broey Joey” persona that made him famous — which tells you everything about who he actually is when the cameras stop.

‘The Circle’ Season 1 — The $100,000 Win

Joey’s enthusiasm throughout the game was beloved, along with his determination to make authentic connections with other players. While others chose to strategically play a catfish, Joey stayed true to himself. In a format specifically designed to reward deception, he played as if everyone was exactly who they said they were — and the cast responded by ranking him number one at the finale.

He had a flirtationship with Miranda Bissonnette on the show, and after filming wrapped, she flew to LA to see him. They went on a date but never officially became a couple. They remain close friends. He and Shubham Goel, the runner-up, have also maintained a genuine friendship since the show. The two appear on each other’s social media regularly and have been spotted out together multiple times over the years.

Joey put at least half the $100,000 prize money away, noting he had always lived week-to-week bartending and had never had savings before. The rest went toward building the next chapter.

After ‘The Circle’ — The Hustle Years

The opportunities came fast after Season 1 aired. Joey signed with A3 Artists Agency and landed a spot on the runway during New York Fashion Week. During COVID-19, he hosted an Instagram series called “Heads or Tails,” where he interviewed experts on different aspects of the pandemic — job security, student loans, and beyond.

He hosted Faraway Bae, a virtual dating show where fans voted on who fellow Circle alum Diamond Jack should date each week. He appeared on Match Me If You Can, an MTV dating show, in 2021. He launched The Sasso Fam Collection, a merch line built around his catchphrase “Family Over Everything” and his nickname Broey Joey — which sold out on launch.

He also got sober. Joey has celebrated multiple sobriety anniversaries publicly, and the shift has clearly shaped not just his personal life but his creative instincts. He is more intentional now. More focused. Less bartender, more builder.

‘Perfect Match’ Season 1 — The Kariselle Snow Chapter

In 2023, Joey returned to Netflix for “Perfect Match” Season 1, joining other Netflix reality stars including Francesca Farago and Circle alums Nick Uhlenhuth and Chloe Veitch. He and Kariselle Snow — who had a prior history of two failed attempts at dating before the show — found their way back to each other in the villa. He proposed at the finale. She said yes.

They broke up in 2023. The two are cordial with no bad blood, and Joey has been clear that the relationship was real — not performed for the cameras. “If we were going to fake it, this would be the time to fake it — while the show’s airing,” he said. He has dated since, though he has kept his personal life largely off social media. Full breakdown on what happened between the two is available here.

He has two daughters with Capriana, his current partner, who he has kept deliberately private. The girls appear in Halloween costumes and Christmas photos. The relationship exists outside the Netflix Reality Universe entirely, and that appears to be entirely intentional.

The Acting Career — Finally Getting There

This is the part of the Joey Sasso story that is still being written, and it is further along than most people realize.

Joey starred as the lead in Young Lion of the West, a period Western film that he also co-wrote, playing Nick Donato, a local club promoter who defies his boss to open his own club. The film is available on Amazon Prime Video, and its existence — a reality TV winner writing and starring in his own film — is not nothing. He has also appeared in the NBC comedy Girls5eva, adding a legitimate television credit to his résumé alongside his reality work.

His Instagram bio links directly to the Young Lion of the West Amazon page, which is the clearest signal available that he considers the film his primary professional identity right now. The Broey Joey era is not over — it is just being used to fund something more serious.

What He Is Up To Now

Joey is back home after a recent health scare with his mother, as seen in the video above. He has always been known as a mamma’s boy, so moving back home to be near his mother should not come as a surprise to “Circle” viewers.

He remains active on social media. His Cameo page stays busy. His Threads account runs on the same self-deprecating energy that made him compelling on The Circle.

Joey came to “The Circle” as a broke bartender who wanted to act and win. He won. Now he is acting. It took six years, a Netflix engagement that didn’t work out, a sobriety anniversary, and a film he wrote himself, but the story he wanted to tell about himself is starting to look like the one he is actually living.
