Chloe Veitch and Shayne Jansen arrived at “Perfect Match” Season 1 as two of the Netflix Reality Universe’s most recognizable faces — and two of its most romantically unlucky ones.
Chloe is from Clacton-on-Sea in Essex, had already won “Too Hot to Handle” Season 1 and come second on “The Circle” Season 2. She was funny, bubbly, loud in the best way, and had left “The Circle” with an eight-month relationship with Mitchell Eason that ended without resolution. She came into “Perfect Match” still carrying some of that unfinished business, even if she wouldn’t have admitted it at the time.
Shayne is from Chicago, had crashed out of “Love Is Blind” Season 2 in one of the more painful finales the franchise has ever aired. He and Natalie Lee fell in love in the pods, got engaged, and fell apart spectacularly on their wedding day — an argument that played out in front of millions of viewers and followed Shayne around the internet for months. He arrived at the “Perfect Match” villa carrying that weight, working as a personal trainer and trying to build something new.
Neither of them knew the other before the show. Chloe had never even watched his Love Is Blind season.
How They Found Each Other
Shayne’s early days in the villa were rough. He matched with Ines first, but the connection never caught fire. He was drifting when the show brought Chloe in, and the moment they sat down together it was immediately obvious something was different.
When Shayne was matched with Chloe, sparks flew instantly as their energy aligned perfectly, and they ended up showering together on a date early in their pairing. They became the villa’s strongest couple almost overnight — the kind of match that makes everyone else look like they are still figuring it out.
Then Mitchell Eason walked in.
The Mitchell Problem
When Francesca and Damian gained control of the board, they put Chloe on a date with her ex and former “Circle” castmate Mitchell. It turned out that Chloe and Mitchell had dated for eight months after their time on “The Circle,” and they had left things unresolved.
The date went well enough that Chloe made the call to match with Mitchell and send Shayne home — a decision that came with a side of bad timing when Shayne got drenched by the balcony pool overflowing onto the terrace as Mitchell cannonballed in. The optics were not subtle.
Two days after Chloe and Mitchell matched, they won a compatibility challenge and got a romantic date — where Mitchell said he was not looking for a relationship. Chloe immediately regretted her choice. She told the cameras she would bring Shayne back if he showed up on the board.
He did. Chloe matched herself back up with Shayne in an emotional reunion, confirming that Shayne was not her second choice and that she had needed to make sure things with Mitchell were truly over. To prove it, she confessed her feelings for him with a rap. A full rap. In front of everyone.
They made it to the finale together. Chloe and Shayne were among the finalists but ultimately lost to winners Dom Gabriel and Georgia Hassarati.
Why It Fell Apart
They left the villa as a couple. Within weeks, the bubble popped.
Speaking to People, Chloe admitted she had a blazing row with Shayne during the show’s final episodes that left her questioning the relationship’s future. “I see some colors that I didn’t like,” she said. “I quite like pink. I don’t like red. So after the show, we decided not to take things any further.”
Shayne, for his part, admitted the fault was his. “It was definitely my fault that relationship didn’t work,” he said on the show’s Where Are They Now special. “I had a lot of stress going on — my show was still airing. It was mad chaos when I was back home. Being so far away from each other after being so close for two or three weeks straight was just very difficult.”
The long distance — Essex versus Chicago — was its own wall. But it was Shayne’s chaos that did the real damage. In March 2023, Chloe announced the breakup in an interview, noting that towards the end of filming there had been bumpy roads up and down.
The Friendship That Didn’t Survive Either
They tried to stay friends. That did not work out either.
After the breakup, Shayne texted Chloe hoping they could reconcile, but she turned him down. He then lied about her on a podcast, and although he apologized via text, that incident ended any friendship between the two. Neither follows the other on social media.
It is worth noting what Shayne was going through at the time. His mother passed away in 2022 — meaning he lost his mother and his relationship within months of each other, making that a genuinely brutal year. None of that excuses the podcast comment, but it provides context for someone who was clearly not holding it together.
Where Chloe Veitch Is Now
Chloe has turned her reality TV run into a hosting career — and she has made no secret of her ambitions. She hosted Netflix’s Sneaky Links: Dating After Dark in 2025 alongside relationship expert Spicy Mari, and has stated publicly that hosting Love Island USA is her dream job — specifically that she wants to follow in Maya Jama’s footsteps and take over the US version.
She also launched “Big Sister with Chloe Veitch” on SiriusXM through Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network — a radio show covering reality TV, relationships, and her personal life. She has relocated to Los Angeles, signed with the Gersh agency, and is in active development on shows she has written herself.
As of early 2026, Chloe seems to be focusing on herself, her career, and avoiding the pressure of public relationships. She has 1.7 million Instagram followers and her bio identifies her simply as a Netflix host.
Where Shayne Is Now
Shayne’s post-Perfect Match journey has been more turbulent — and more honest about it than most reality stars tend to be.
He went on the Blind Love podcast in early 2025 and revealed he had resorted to drugs and alcohol to cope with the sudden influx of followers and public scrutiny after Love Is Blind. He credited a friend giving him a stable home as the thing that saved him. He has since spoken openly about how the show gave him what he described as a fear of never being allowed to make mistakes. “One bad moment and it all falls apart,” he said. “Being a ‘character’ gets you views. Being yourself gets you real connection. I chose real and it cost me a lot post-show. But it gave me everything.”
The reinvention has been physical and professional. He underwent a dramatic body transformation — documented thoroughly on Instagram and TikTok — and pivoted his personal training business entirely toward women’s hormonal health, specializing in postpartum recovery and perimenopause. He has 580,000 Instagram followers at @shaynejansen and runs a coaching intake through a Typeform link in his bio. His Threads account regularly jokes that his DMs are flooded with hormone questions, which is, he says, “terrible for my love life.”
He briefly dated Julie Theis, a woman he met filming another reality show, going public with the caption “Love is her” — but the relationship ended within months. Reports emerged that the split involved tension over Shayne’s OnlyFans account, which he launched as part of his fitness brand pivot. He posted a terse statement saying he would not be speaking further on the matter, which is very Shayne.
As of 2026, he is based in Austin, Texas, single by all indications, and coaching women through their fitness journeys with the kind of specificity that suggests he has put real work into understanding a demographic that reality TV fame handed him accidentally. His Threads bio sums it up: “My DMs are flooded with hormone and perimenopause questions. Love that for my clients. Terrible for my love life.”
“Perfect Match” Seasons 1 through 3 are streaming now on Netflix.
“Perfect Match” Season 4 premieres May 13, only on Netflix.
