Dom Gabriel and Georgia Hassarati arrived at “Perfect Match” Season 1 from two very different corners of the Netflix Reality Universe.
Dom, from Pickering, Ontario, is a singer-songwriter and content creator who had just come off “The Mole” Season 1 — a competition show that rewards social awareness and the ability to read people under pressure. He is warm, emotionally open, and has the kind of energy that makes other people feel seen. He entered the “Perfect Match” villa leading with his heart, which, as it turned out, was both his greatest asset and his biggest liability.
Georgia, from Brisbane, Australia, was one of the breakout stars of “Too Hot to Handle” Season 3. She is a model and content creator with a feed that looks like it was shot for a perfume campaign — fashion weeks, Rio beaches, New York rooftops, all delivered with the casual confidence of someone who knows exactly how she looks in every room.
The Francesca Problem
Dom’s “Perfect Match” journey didn’t start with Georgia. It started with Francesca Farago.
The two matched early in the season and developed a genuine connection — genuine enough that when Francesca chose to leave Dom for “Love Is Blind’s” Damian Powers in Episode 5, Dom sobbed on camera and told her he loved her.
Georgia had watched all of it. She and Francesca were close friends before the show. Knowing that Dom had fallen that hard for her friend, and then choosing to develop feelings for Dom anyway, was a complicated position. Georgia did it anyway. By the back half of the season, they were inseparable.
What Happened In the Villa
Among the obstacles the two had to navigate: Georgia learning that Dom had confessed deep feelings for Francesca, who was one of her close friends, and dealing with Ines Tazi from “The Circle: France” being interested in Dom. Meanwhile, Mitchell Eason from “The Circle” Season 2 wanted to pursue Georgia. Despite potential matches at literally every turn, the couple kept choosing each other.
Georgia described it clearly: “It was a very difficult atmosphere and we rose above every challenge that was thrown at us. It brought us together. It made us stronger.”
They made it to the finale. The reveal that Dom and Georgia had won came as a surprise to viewers, considering fellow finalists Joey Sasso and Kariselle Snow got engaged during the same episode. The engagement made more noise. Dom and Georgia won anyway.
The prize: an all-expenses-paid trip for two, anywhere in the world.
They never took it.
Why It Fell Apart
The obvious roadblock coming out of the villa was that Hassarati lived in Australia and Gabriel was from Canada. They tried to make it work across that distance. It didn’t hold.
The breakup itself, as Dom and Georgia initially described it to press, was civil. Dom said they “tried our best to make it work and keep in contact.” Georgia said he was a great person and she wouldn’t change anything. Standard post-show language. Nothing alarming.
Then the “Where Are They Now” special aired, and things changed completely.
The Instagram War
Dom revealed during the “Where Are They Now” segment that they never used their prize vacation and that he felt blindsided when Georgia appeared on Harry Jowsey‘s podcast — which was titled “Georgia and Harry Fall in Love.”
“We were still talking. We were together, and she had to go do a certain podcast,” he said.
Georgia fired back on Instagram Stories. She explained she had “no say” in the title of the podcast, pointed out that Dom was at dinner with Ines Tazi the night she returned from recording it, and implied he and Tazi were now dating. She added that when they had last seen each other with the rest of the cast, he spoke to her warmly and mentioned no concerns at all.
Dom responded with screenshots. He denied that his dinner with Tazi was a date, saying it included other cast members and producers, and added “I’m also very f—king single.” Tazi backed him up, describing their connection as platonic.
Georgia then pinned some of the blame on Dom’s renewed friendship with Francesca Farago, writing: “We messaged after seeing each other that night and you were normal over message. But conveniently stopped replying when you started hanging out with Francesca again. Coincidence? I think not. Kris Jenner works hard but Francesca works harder.”
It also came out that Harry Jowsey had revealed that he and Georgia slept together on the day she recorded the podcast — which didn’t help Georgia’s position, and which Francesca Farago cited when she called Georgia “shady” on multiple podcasts.
The prize money issue was the final note. Since the two had split before taking the trip, Netflix was reportedly compensating them with cash instead. Georgia reached out to Dom about it. Dom posted screenshots of her messages, and his own replies agreeing it was “worth giving it a go.”
Harry & Georgia subsequently dated for about a year shortly after, before his appearance on “Perfect Match” Season 2 alongside Dom.
Where Dom Gabriel Is Now
Dom has made himself one of the most decorated contestants in the Netflix Reality Universe — and he has the receipts to prove it.
After “Perfect Match” Season 1, he returned for Season 2 but left early without finding a new connection. He then competed on “The Traitors: Canada” Season 3 and won. He and fellow contestant Hollywood Jade won as Faithfuls, splitting approximately $92,000. His Instagram bio now reads: “2x Reality TV Show Winner.” He has 967,000 followers at @dontcalldom.
Beyond the game shows, Dom is actively pursuing his music. His band is Don’t Call Band, and he is signed with Underscored International. He was the subject of a Rolling Stone Korea feature — a profile that landed him on their cover — and his content spans original music, comedy, and the kind of thoughtful commentary that has kept his audience genuinely engaged rather than just celebrity-curious.
He appears to be single, with his Threads account joking periodically about his love life with the self-awareness of someone who has been burned publicly enough times to find it funny.
Where Georgia Hassarati Is Now
Georgia’s post-show life has been considerably more glamorous and considerably less focused on the Netflix Reality Universe.
She has 1.3 million Instagram followers at @georgiahassarati and a feed that documents her life across Coachella, Capri, Thailand, Paris, Fiji, and New York with a consistency that suggests she is never actually home.
She co-founded Girls Disrupted, a women’s community brand, and has a film production company, Film by Georgia, both linked in her bio. She is repped by Range MP.
In late 2024, reports surfaced that Georgia had moved on and was dating actor Thomas Doherty. The pair were spotted getting close at a Glenlivet event in New York City in December 2024. The following month, Doherty posted a video of the two together in a car on his Instagram Stories, their first joint appearance on social media. It’s unknown at this time if they are still together.
She and Dom have not publicly interacted since the Instagram war. The friendship, if there ever was one post-show, did not survive it.
The Honest Verdict
Dom and Georgia were the season’s winners by vote — but their relationship was always more complicated than the finale framing suggested. The Panama bubble was always going to be hard to preserve once they were 16,000 kilometers apart with their own lives pulling in opposite directions.
What happened after was messier than it needed to be. The podcast, the screenshots, the Francesca subplot, the prize money texts — all of it played out publicly in a way that left both of them looking, at various moments, less than their best. They were both right about some things. They were both not entirely honest about others.
Two years later, Dom has another reality win on his résumé and a Rolling Stone cover. Georgia has a million followers, a company, and a new relationship. They got what they came for. It just wasn’t each other.
“Perfect Match” Seasons 1 through 3 are streaming now on Netflix.
“Perfect Match” Season 4 premieres May 13, only on Netflix.
