Netflix dropped the “Perfect Match” Season 4 trailer on April 29, and it delivered exactly what it promised — heartfelt conversations, messy matchmaking, and hookups —blindfolded and otherwise.
Ally wants five poodles. DeMari’s ex just walked in. The game is changing. May 13 cannot come fast enough.
Here is everything the trailer revealed, from the early pairings to the format twist nobody saw coming.
Ally Set the Tone Immediately
The trailer opens with Ally Lewber — “Vanderpump Rules” alum, first-ever Bravo star to enter the “Perfect Match” villa — announcing exactly what she is here for.
She wants to get married, have babies, and five poodles. In that order. The woman who walked away from a three-year relationship with James Kennedy and moved to Charleston for a fresh start is not coming into this villa to mess around. Whether the villa delivers on all five poodles remains to be seen.
The Format Is Changing
Host Nick Lachey addresses fans directly, saying “You thought you knew the game? Well, we’re changing everything.” The specific twist has not been fully revealed, but it addresses one of the most consistent complaints about previous seasons — that cast members who were not brought in by boardroom couples got very little screen time.
The new format appears to welcome the entire group of singles to a compatibility challenge from the start, suggesting everyone gets a fair shot from episode one rather than waiting to be selected by a couple with boardroom power.
The Early Pairings
The trailer gives glimpses of several early connections forming — none confirmed, all intriguing.
Based on the trailer, the initial pairs appear to be Ally with Jimmy Presnell, Natalie Cruz with Yamen Sanders, Mackenzie Bellows with Dave Hand, DeMari Davis with Marissa George, Chris Dahlan with a mystery woman, and Jimmy Sotos with Alison Ogden.
The Yamen and Natalie pairing is loaded with “Temptation Island” Season 9 history — they were on the same season and know each other well. Natalie is the woman Grant cheated with while Yamen was one of the tempters. Putting them together early is a choice.
The Moment Everyone Is Talking About
The most shocking moment of the trailer is DeMari Davis watching Brianna Balram walk through the door and telling viewers: “That’s my ex. What is happening?” They won “Too Hot to Handle” Season 6 together, took home $100,000, dated afterward, and broke up.
Now they are in the same villa on a different Netflix dating show.
Bri addresses it directly in her pre-season Tudum profile: “I’m not going to be the girl you run over — I have keyed a man’s car before.” Whether that energy is directed at DeMari specifically or the universe in general, the trailer doesn’t clarify. Either way, it is going to make excellent television.
Other Connections Teased
First look photos show Alison Ogden and Nick Pellecchia together with a coconut — the “Million Dollar Secret” winner and the “Building the Band” singer apparently finding each other early.
Also teased: Alison possibly matching with Danny Spongberg as well, which would make her one of the more sought-after people in the villa in the opening episodes.
DeMari and Marissa George also appear cozy in the first look photos — which would put his ex Bri watching him pursue someone else in real time, a scenario the show is very clearly setting up.
What the Trailer Does Not Show
No sign of Weston Richey and Yamen’s “Love Island” USA Season 1 history being addressed. No Nick Pellecchia and Jimmy Presnell roommate dynamic being teased. No Kassy Castillo, Katherine LaPrell, or Hashim Moore getting significant trailer time. And no hint of whether any bombshells are coming mid-season — though based on what we know about Ashley Moore’s follower list, the villa door may open more than once before episode five ends.
When to Watch
“Perfect Match” Season 4 premieres May 13 on Netflix with Episodes 1 through 5. Episode 6 and 7 follow May 20. The finale drops May 27.
